Apple Terminates Fortnite-maker Epic Games’ Developer Account

After days and weeks of going back and forth, Apple has finally terminated Epic Games App Store account. This means Epic Games can no longer issue updates to any of its games, including make any new ones available for iOS.

After doing so, Apple said in a statement:

″We are disappointed that we have had to terminate the Epic Games account on the App Store. We have worked with the team at Epic Games for many years on their launches and releases.  The court recommended that Epic comply with the App Store guidelines while their case moves forward, guidelines they’ve followed for the past decade until they created this situation. Epic has refused. Instead they repeatedly submit Fortnite updates designed to violate the guidelines of the App Store. This is not fair to all other developers on the App Store and is putting customers in the middle of their fight. We hope that we can work together again in the future, but unfortunately that is not possible today.”

Customers can still play the game if it is still installed on a device.  But will not get any new updates or worlds from this day forward.

How to auto-update an iOS device

Keeping your device(s) updated with the latest software updates is extremely important.  These updates may include necessary security or software enhancement updates to keep your personal data secure.

BUT Apple realizes that persons don’t always have time to sit down and get updates.  So that’s why the company gave iOS the ability to update itself, at a time when the device is not busy (usually between 2am - 6am local time).

In order for iOS to receive auto-updates over night, the device should either be plugged in, or have greater than 50% charge.

Here’s how to make sure the feature is enabled (or disabled):

  1. Go into SettingsGeneralSoftware Update.
  2. Select Customized Auto Updates.
  3. Here’s where you choose to have auto updates ON or OFF.
  4. That’s it.

Leaked iPad Air manual seems to show all-screen display with Touch ID built into power button

Early Friday, photos were posted on social media claiming to be from yet to be released iPad Air showing an all-screen display and it also seems to show that the Touch-ID feature (currently in the Home Button) has been moved to the Power button.

Of course these photos should be taken as rumor as no official announcement from Apple has been announced.

Apple TV+ Series ‘Invasion’ resumes filming after COVID-19 Shutdown

Sam Neill (Jurassic World: Dominion, Peaky Blinders), Shamier Anderson (Bruised, Awake), Golshifteh Farahani (Extraction, Paterson), Firas Nassar (Fauda) and Shioli Kutsuna (Deadpool 2, The Outsider) star in Invasion (fka Untitled Kinberg/Weil), a character-driven sci-fi drama series from Kinberg, Weil and Platform One Media.

Invasion is set across multiple continents and follows an alien invasion through multiple perspectives around the world.

One of Apple’s most ambitious original series to date, Invasion is designed to film in four locations on four continents: New York in the U.S. as well as UK (Manchester), Morocco and Japan. Portions of the series had been shot in New York and Morocco, and producers were prepping for the UK shoot when the coronavirus-related industry shutdown started in mid-March.

Invasion is among the first U.S. series to resume production with COVID-19 safety protocols. At Apple, it joins fellow sci-fi drama, For All Mankind, which recently restarted filming on the Sony lot to finish its second season.
