Apple to give employees paid time off for the U.S. November Election

Apple has sent a memo to all of its employees that the company will be giving paid time off on Election Day (Tuesday, November 3rd, 2020) in an effort to encourage voting and/or volunteering at a voting place.

The memo (seen by Bloomberg News) says in part:

For retail team members and hourly workers across the company, if you’re scheduled to work this Election Day, we’ll be providing up to four hours of paid time off if you need it to get to the polls. If they choose, our teams can also use this time to volunteer as an election worker at one of your local polling stations. — Deirdre O’Brien, Apple’s senior vice president of retail and people.

The Apple Watch keeps saving users’ lives

In September of 2014, when Apple CEO Tim Cook introduced the first Apple Watch, he didn’t exaggerate when he said it was the most personal device the company had ever created. Since its launch, the Apple Watch has become a fitness coach, a health monitor and a constant way to stay connected. And for some users, it has been much more.

For these people, it even changed their lives.
