Don’t buy a looted iPhone – It’ll never work

As protests continue throughout the United States, some cities have seen looting of Apple Stores.  While these looters have taken such items as MacBook Airs, Pros, and more, they've also taken the company's iPhones in hopes to either get a free device, or turning around and selling them for profit.  Well, there's one problem with that idea, stolen iPhones will never work.

Each demo that's publicly accessible on the tables do not have the ability to be activated as they lack the necessary internal hardware TO activate them with a cell carrier or even a WiFi Network.

The phone will also display a message which reads: "This device has been disabled and is being tracked," it says. "Local authorities will be alerted."

So if you're a looter, or have bought an iPhone from one, I'd be ready to have the cops show up at any time.
