How to quickly switch from one app to another on iPhone X and iPad 2018

Switching between apps on iPhone and iPad has gotten easier over the years with the HOME button.  But with the iPhone X and iPad, the Home button is no longer there.

While in one app, Swipe along the bottom of the device to get into another open app.  You can go through each app until you get to the one you wish.

Another way is, while inside an app, swipe UP from the bottom and stop in the middle of the screen.  All of the current open apps will appear.  Swipe left or right until you find the app you want.  Tap on it to bring it to the foreground.

Alternate ways to watch the Super Bowl if your Streaming Service goes down

Today's Super Bowl is usually the most watched sporting event of the year.  Last year, some streaming services actually went down because of the demand on the service.

Fortunately, the TV Network that will broadcast the Super Bowl (CBS) as well as other web sites such as the NFL's min web site (NFL.com)  CBS.com is also offering a free week to their streaming service.

If you do not wish to fool around with streaming or cable, a lot of local bars and restaurants are hosting Super Bowl parties and will have the game on their TVs.

CBS All Access is available on the Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire, other streaming devices and as an app on some smart TVs.

How to easily change from Light to Dark, or Dark to Light Mode in MacOS Mojave

If you're like me, and go back and forth from light to dark mode in MacOS Mojave, you know it's a pain to go into System Preferences > General and switch it in there.  Wouldn't it be great if you could do it by a shortcut from the Dock?

Here's how by using Automator and one simple command.

  • Open Automator from the Applications Folder.
  • When asked for the file type, select Application.
  • Save the file to the Desktop for now.
  • From the Search field, search for "Change System Appearance"
  • Drag that to the right side.
  • There will be one option that says "Change Appearance: Toggle Light/Dark".
  • Save the file to the Desktop again.
  • Exit Automator.
  • Now drag the newly Automator action to the Dock.
  • Clicking on the action will automagically change the desktop environment from light to dark, or visa versa.
  • That's it!
