The URSafe app is an hands-free safety app that livestreams

In the months leading up to Uber's long-awaited safety report, the app rolled out a slew of safety tools to give riders an added sense of security.

In September, Uber added RideCheck, a system designed to flag unusual events. Later that month, the app started testing a feature that would let passengers record their driver's voice if things were getting out of hand.

As Uber grapples with the 5,981 reports of sexual assault and figures out which features can prevent those types of occurrences, a startup is rolling out a mobile app that uses a multi-pronged approach to personal safety, so you can report an event whether your phone is in your pocket or across the room.

Tuesday, UrSafe launches on iOS and AndroidIt was created by two medical professionals and an Air Force veteran to protect users in almost any assault situation. The app instantly video records the scenario, sends the user's name and location to law enforcement agencies and stores a streamed video of the incident on a designated receiver's smartphone.

EW: George Lucas cut the best Star Wars lightsaber fight from the prequels

The best lightsaber fight in the Star Wars franchise may be one that you never saw.

That’s the opinion of stunt coordinator Nick Gillard, who helped choreograph the fights throughout the prequel trilogy.

Gillard was discussing the lightsaber battle in The Phantom Menance when we mentioned that the Darth Maul vs. Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon three-way bout is considered by many fans to be the best laser sword contest in the entire saga.

Then Gillard surprised us by revealing: No… there is another…

There is “a better one” fans never saw, Gillard said — a Revenge of the Sith fight in which Obi-Wan takes on six of General Grievous’ bodyguards at the same time.

Disney Warns that ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ may contain scenes that could trigger Seizures

The Walt Disney Company is warning viewers who may have photosensitive epilepsy that several fight scenes in the upcoming movie “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” might cause seizures.

Disney partnered with the Epilepsy Foundation to issue the advisory for sensitive viewers. Several of the scenes in the movie show fast-moving flashing lights during fights.

The Epilepsy Foundation said people with photosensitive epilepsy can still go enjoy the movie, but should take the following precautions:

  • Ask a friend to watch the movie beforehand
  • Then take that friend to see the movie with you and have them alert you when scenes containing the flashing lights are about to come on so you can cover your eyes
  • Teach the friend three simple steps if a seizure happens so they can help – stay, safe, side

About 3 percent of people with epilepsy have photosensitivity to certain intensities and visual patterns that can trigger a seizure, according to the foundation.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates 3.4 million people in the U.S. alone have epilepsy, and the World Health Organization reports that epilepsy is the most common serious brain disorder in the world.

The final chapter in the “Star Wars” saga is set to come out Dec. 20.
