Be warned: There’s actually no way to delete subscribed magazines from Apple News on your iPhone

According to several sources, Apple’s new Apple News Magazine Subscription is off to a great start. While no actual stats have been made public, our sources say that the company is extremely happy with the initial results.

But launching a new service does come with bugs. Only hours after the service debuted, developers found some pretty big security holes in terms of content protection, and now users have raised concerns about a lack of storage management in the updated iOS 12.2 News app, resulting in fears that the feature could end up overwhelming users’ storage, particularly on lower-capacity devices.

One source has reached out to CompuScoop pointing out that Apple has not provided a way to delete any downloaded magazine once a user has finished with it.  Further, any new subscribed magazines are automatically downloaded to a device for offline reading. This is leaving some end users concerned especially with those devices that have limited storage.

Some users have also noted that those magazines remained on the device even when someone cancelled their free trial period.  Yet another source told us that when they called Apple Support about this very problem, the support professional advised the user that iOS 12 will not only manage the space, but also delete any old content after 30 days.

So, in closing, a good idea from Apple has a lot of bugs AND was not ready for prime time.

Well this sucks: The only way to get 256GB Ram in an iMac Pro is to buy it custom from Apple

The recent addition of an option to configure an iMac Pro with up to 256GB of memory may be the only time users get to add that much RAM to their Mac, with internal documentation reportedly suggesting it won't be possible to upgrade versions with lesser memory capacities to that level after purchase.

Updated on March 19 alongside other changes to the Apple product lineup, prospective customers looking to acquire an iMac Pro were given the opportunity to select two more options as part of their order. The memory could be set up 256 gigabytes, at a cost of $5,200 on top of the entry-level price, while an upgrade to the Vega 64X for graphics put the price up by $700.

It seems that customizing the order from Apple may be the only opportunity customers will get to go for 256 gigabytes of memory. Documentation for use by Apple's store support teams and Apple Authorized Service Providers allegedly indicate only iMac Pro models configured at the time of purchase to have 256 gigabytes of RAM will be able to support the high memory quantity.

While it would be physically possible to insert four 64-gigabyte memory modules into the iMac Pro, configurations starting with memory capacities below 256 gigabytes apparently won't be upgradable to the figure at all.

It is unclear why Apple would prevent memory upgrades to that quantity, as the limitation could be due to a number of factors. It is plausible for there to be a limitation in the design of the iMac Pro that requires an additional workaround, though it may also be a move to try and encourage customers to pay for their memory upgrades through Apple directly rather than going down the route of third-party upgrade kits.

An Apple corporate source not authorized to speak on behalf of the company advised to AppleInsider that "any of the iMac Pro models can be upgraded to 128GB. At present, the only way to get to 256GB on an iMac Pro is to order a custom configuration."

The reason for the limitation wasn't advised, but it does still mean it could be lifted in future, potentially by a firmware update.

Apple Card – THE FINE PRINT

“Later this year, Apple is going to launch a new credit card that’s linked to Apple Pay and built right into the Wallet app, which iPhone users can sign up for,” Juli Clover reports for MacRumors. “Apple is partnering with Goldman Sachs for the card, which is going to be optimized for Apple Pay but will still work like a traditional credit card for all of your transactions.”

“There’s a lot of fine print associated with the new Apple Card,” Clover reports, “so we’ve created this guide to provide details on what you can expect when it launches in the fall.”

“As with any other credit card, there is a credit limit for Apple Card that will vary from person to person. A better credit score means a higher credit limit, and credit limit also increases over time,” Clover reports. “Apple says Apple Card will offer an APR between 13.24 percent and 24.24 percent based on your credit score.”

“A wide APR range like this means Apple will be making this card available to most people, even those with less than stellar credit scores,” Clover reports. “There are tools built into the Wallet app to encourage you to pay off your balance quicker to avoid interest fees.”
