Subway to use Apple Pay for new self-order kiosks and pre-orders via iPhone

(AppleInsider.com): Subway is in the middle of testing a new restaurant design that will make Apple Pay an integral option when ordering food, in some cases before people even walk through the door.

Upgraded locations will have self-order kiosks supporting both Apple Pay and Samsung Pay, the company said on Monday. Once an order is completed, people will be able to claim it at a dedicated pick-up space. The chain does already support Apple Pay, but only for conventional orders.

How to Unsubscribe from an E-Mail Mailing List in iOS Mail

For those of us who rely on e-mail, we see one come in from a source that we have no idea where it came from.

Fortunately, starting with iOS 10, Apple has given us a way to easily unsubscribe from those mailing lists.

Here's how:

When an email comes in, the above message appears at the top of the screen.
Tap on the above message.

If that doesn't work, then you'll need to do it the old fashioned way - scroll down to the bottom of the email and hit the small (or sometimes hidden) unsubscribe link.

Virus Alert for Mac: OSX Dok

“A recently discovered strain of Apple Mac malware has begun mimicking major banking websites in an effort to steal login details from victims,” Danny Palmer reports for ZDNet. “First uncovered in May, OSX.Dok affected all versions of Apple’s older OS X operating system and was initially used to spy on victims’ web traffic.”

“The malware was later modified to infect macOS users, and its latest variant has been updated to steal money and financial credentials, say researchers at Check Point,” Palmer reports. “This new Dok campaign is distributed via phishing emails relating to financial or tax matters, with the payload deployed via a malicious ZIP file that victims are urged to run.”

Palmer reports, “Check Point warns the malware is still on the loose and will be a threat for some time to come, especially if the attackers continue to invest in advanced obfuscation techniques.”

Apple’s Spaceship Campus causing Surrounding Housing Prices to Skyrock

(CNBC.com): Things change when a spaceship comes to town.

Tourists stroll by, whipping out their iPhones to get a photo. New businesses move in. And real estate prices go up even more.

Apple's new home in Cupertino — the centerpiece being a $5 billion, four-story, 2.8 million-square-foot ring that can be seen from space and that locals call the spaceship — is still getting some final touches, and employees have just started to trickle in. The full squadron, about 12,000 people, will arrive in several months.

But the development of the headquarters, a 175-acre area officially called Apple Park, has already helped transform the surrounding area.
