“I’m spending a week with iPhone X as my primary device. So far, it’s the most fun I’ve had with any gadget since the original iPhone. I’m not being hyperbolic here,” Rene Ritchie writes for iMore. “There are shortcomings. There are things I’d love to see changed. But I can’t stop using it. The new display is beyond gorgeous. HDR is glorious. Fluid navigation gestures are sublime. Face ID is so fast I’m forgetting I have a passcode. Attention aware interactivity is the bomb.”

And that’s saying a lot.”

iPhone X shipment dates improve

Multiple sources, including several AppleInsider readers, are reporting that iPhone X deliveries once scheduled to arrive at the end of November have either already shipped, or are in the final phases of the preparatory process and will arrive much sooner than predicted.

“I’ve been trying out the iPhone X for nine days now, longer than anyone on the planet outside Apple, apparently. So I’ve had time to get to grips with the handset, check out the new interface, the battery life and just how intrusive the screen ‘notch’ turns out to be.,” David Phelan writes for Forbes. “The whole thing has an opulent, high-end feel to it. Looks-wise, it’s the classiest iPhone yet.”

“Switch on and all is revealed. The frame that runs around the display is wider than many expected, roughly the width of the bezel that runs down the long sides on the iPhone 8 Plus. Why is that? My guess is that it’s a design choice made on the basis that the bezel is precisely even all the way around the phone, perhaps instead of having wider bezels at the sides than the ends or vice versa,” Phelan writes. “The OLED that Apple has used is a flexible one that is folded underneath, with individual pixel control giving rise to the perfectly round corners all around the display. Very Apple. It’s a matter of taste but personally I like the way the bezel defines the screen.”

CNBC reviews Apple’s iPhone X: The Best Smartphone on the Market

“I’m glad I bought the iPhone X,” Todd Haselton writes for CNBC. “Apple provided me with a review unit on Monday and I’ve been using it as much as possible, specifically trying to hone in on Apple’s new features. You can unlock the iPhone X by looking at it, for example. It has a display that covers almost the entire front of the phone. The cameras are incredible.”

“The iPhone X display is the best display I’ve ever seen on a smartphone,” Haselton writes. “Thanks to TrueTone, Apple’s display technology, the screen always shows the most accurate colors no matter the lighting environment. It’s bright, colorful and viewable from all angles.”

“The iPhone X hardware is the best I’ve ever seen Apple make. On the front and back, it has hardened glass that is the most resistant to shattering (though the company warns it’s still glass and can break!)” Haselton writes. “I love the steel running around the borders. It gives the phone a more premium look than aluminum. It’s also easier to hold than the larger iPhone 8 Plus but offers a larger screen (5.8 inches versus 5.5 inches) since the display runs from edge to edge and top to bottom. Know this: When you pick up the iPhone X, it feels like a $1,000 phone.”
