Apple says some display grips are to be expected with OLED displays with iPhone X

“iPhone X is finally arriving to customers today, and with it comes the new 5.8-inch OLED screen that Apple calls the Super Retina display. iPhone X is the first model that uses this screen technology, and with it comes a few disclaimers,” Zac Hall reports for 9to5Mac.

“Namely, Apple wants customers to expect color and hue shifting when using iPhone X at off-angles as a characteristic of the OLED display,” Hall reports. “Apple also says iPhone X has the best OLED display in the industry with the Super Retina display, but burn-in can still occur under certain circumstances.”

“Apple also recommends using Auto-Brightness*, shorter Auto-Lock** periods, and running the latest software update to prolong the life of the OLED display,” Hall reports. “Finally, Apple recommends against showing static images at full brightness for extended periods of time with Super Retina display on iPhone X.”

New web site as ‘draft’ for 2020 Presidential Run for Tim Cook

“A new ‘Draft Tim Cook 2020’ website was launched on Friday as an apparent effort to convince Apple’s CEO to launch a presidential campaign,” Brent Scher reports for The Washington Free Beacon.

“The website, which provides no information on who is behind the effort, features a modified red, white, and blue Apple logo and highlights speeches Cook has delivered in place of a campaign platform,” Scher reports. “The website also highlights tweets Cook has sent that indicate he is part of the movement to ‘#Resist’ Republican President Donald Trump. Other tweets are shown to illustrate that Cook has taken a position on DACA, the Charlottesville protests, the transgender military ban, and the Paris Climate Accords.”

“The website also highlights the fact that Cook was almost picked to be the Democrat’s vice presidential candidate in 2016, links to various profiles of Cook, and discloses his political activity in recent years,” Scher reports. “The anonymous group behind the website has also created a “@DraftTimCook” Twitter account on Friday.”

Lines growing for official launch of in-store purchase of iPhone X

According to several sources, lines outside of Apple Stores around the world continue to grow in front of the official availability of the iPhone X for in store purchasing.

Lines continue to grow in such counties as the United States, United Kingdom, Singapore, and others.

The iPhone X is scheduled to be widely available this Friday for around $1,000.00.
