How to download and install MacOS High Sierra

Today is the day when Apple releases its newest operating system, MacOS High Sierra.  With over 200 new features and enhancements, this upgrade will be worth the wait.

While obvious for most, some newer Mac users may not know how to download, install, and upgrade their computers.

If you want to see what's new, just go to the MacOS High Sierra official web page at https://www.apple.com/macos/high-sierra/

Just follow the below step by step, and you'll be running MacOS High Sierra in no time.

  1. Login to the administrator's account on your Mac as normal.
  2. You have to login to the Mac App Store.  (Select  > App Store).
  3. Apple will usually have an ad banner showing where to get the operating system.
  4. When seen, click that banner.
  5. On the left side of the window, find and then click the Download button.
  6. The installation program will download in to the Launch Pad.
  7. When the download is complete, the installation window should automatically open.
  8. Make sure you close any current open programs.
  9. Follow the directions in that installation window, and reboot the computer.
  10. The installation will begin, and will usually take anywhere from 30 - 45 Minutes to complete.

For a successful installation, you must have a consistent Internet connection.

After the installation is complete, the computer will ask you some questions about iCloud and your computer. Just follow the screens from here on in.

By doing these steps, you'll be up and running in no time.

How to watch Star Trek: Discovery

After months of rumors, waiting, and false stories, CBS is finally going to show the latest addition in the Star Trek franchise, Star Trek: Discovery.

Many rumors and quite frankly false stories have been making the rounds on how to watch the prequel to the original.

The following is factual information on how to watch this latest edition to Star Trek.

  • FACT: The first show will be shown on the CBS Television Network at 8:30pm Eastern Time.
  • FACT: All shows (after the first one) will be shown on the CBS All Access Streaming Service in the U.S.A.
  • FACT: Their will be a second show (episode 2) preceding the first one on CBS All Access.
  • FACT: Their will be a Star Trek: After Show around 11pm Eastern on CBS All Access.
  • FACT: New shows will be ready to air each week until November or December.
  • FACT: New shows will be coming back sometime in 2018 (probably January or February).
  • FACT: Star Trek: Discovery will be on Netflix in countries other then the United States.
  • FACT: CBS All Access is the only place to see Star Trek: Discovery in the United States.

{U}: Problems with Apple Watch Series 3

The device hasn't been out more than a week, and they're are reports that the Apple Watch Series 3 is having connectivity issues with connecting or staying connected to LTE Networks, while other reports are stating that the device is also having connection issues with the iPhone as well.

Update:
AppleInsider.com is reporting that Apple is aware of the issue, and will be offering a fix soon.
