Sometime Wednesday, Apple expanded the viability of its Map app to include the city of Montreal, Canada.
Some readers have noticed that they can now access Transit data of their area on the person's iOS device.
Now users of the area have access to such data as bus, trains, and other forms of transit information.
Mid Wednesday, HP unveiled its latest portable laptop at a press event. One that the company claims that it is "The World's Thinnest Laptop."
The Spectre is four-tenths of an inch thick, and weighing a little less than two and a half pounds, it's thinner and lighter than the 13-inch MacBook Air. (It weighs slightly more than the new MacBook and Lenovo Yoga 900S).
HP gave its new portable computer a copper sheen to appeal to anyone who loves gold gadgets or devices that look like jewelry.
The guts of the new Spectre are meant to attract people who care about power: The Spectre boasts an Intel Core i7 processor, 8 GB of memory, and about 10 hours of battery life. And for music lovers, HP tapped Bang & Olufsen to give its laptop cred in the audio department.
HP describes the Spectre as being "more artisan than manufactured" in a promo video.
"It looks as if a craftsman made just one of those," the narrator says.
Spectre is meant to compete with other high end laptops starting at $1,170.00
Pre-orders for the device are set to begin on April 25th and will be available on HP's web site, as well as Best Buy.
“The iPad Mini has always been too small for anything more than reading a book and the 12.9-inch iPad Pro always made me feel like I was in a sequel to Honey, I Shrunk the Kids. The app icons were too spaced out and holding the tablet, in one or both hands, looked and felt ridiculous,” Alex Cranz writes for Gizmodo UK.
“The 9.7-inch iPad Pro has the same screen size as the most popular tablet of all time (you know, the iPad) so it is naturally going to feel great in tablet mode,” Cranz writes. “When it comes to production mode—using it with a keyboard — it’s clearly the first 9.7-inch iPad built with typing in mind.”
“It shares the same Smart Connector as the larger iPad Pro and that, as well as an upgraded processor, sets it apart from the iPad Air 2,” Cranz writes. “When combined with the lack of precision control and the woefully underpowered “power” user apps in the App Store, you’re left with a 2-in-1 that doesn’t quite bridge the gap between content consumption and content creation. It’s fantastic at the former, but pretty damn lousy at the latter. Unless you’re a writer, of course. I know it’s completely eradicated my need and desire for a smaller laptop for travel. Too bad it’s so bloody expensive.”

“Starz has launched a standalone subscription streaming app,” Hilary Lewis reports for The Hollywood Reporter. “The app costs $8.99 a month and is available for download from Apple’s app store — for iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and Apple TV.”
“The app allows up to four users to watch simultaneously and offers virtually unlimited downloads, a first for a premium cable channel app,” Lewis reports. “Existing Starz subscribers can authenticate and view Starz programming through the app as well.”
Lewis reports, “The service will give users access to more than 2,400 selections a month, including Starz series like Outlander and movies from Disney and Sony, including, later this year, Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”
