Notes from Apple Media Event

oct27helloeventAs expected, Apple announced some new products just in time for the Holidays.  They are as follows:

  • New Accessibility Web Site - The presentation started off with showing how the disabled use Apple products in everyday settings.  The company also announced the availability of a new web site dedicated to information for the disabled.
  • Tim Cook gave an overview of how the iPhone 7 is doing since its release.

Apple TV:

  • Over 8,000 apps in the app store.
  • Over 3,000 dedicated Apple TV games.
  • Over 16,000 apps from video providers (such as ABC, CBS, NBC, etc.)
  • Minecraft is coming by the end of the year.
  • Twitter coming to Apple TV with video integration.
  • Announcement of the new "TV" app.
  • The TV app combines all audio and video content in one app.
  • TV will be available in December.

Tim Cook mentioned that today was the 25th anniversary of the first Apple Powerbook.  A notebook that helped what Apple's goals were back then.

New MacBook Pro:

  • All-new 15" MacBook Pro
  • 14.9 mm Thin.
  • 23% smaller then current model.
  • 12% thinner then the current MacBook Air.
  • Weighs 4 pounds.
  • Force touch Trackpad (2x larger then current one).
  • Touch Bar (shows commands depending on what app you're currently in).
  • Touch ID (to sign-in, Apple Pay, etc.)
  • Up to 10 Hours of Battery life.
  • Price: $2,399.00 (pre order today, ships in 2-3 weeks).

There were also announcements of an updated MacBook and MacBook Air.

Weird overnight activity happened at some Apple Stores

Some people have noticed that some strange activity happening overnight at some Apple Stores worldwide.

The activity seemed to be the store employees setting up line barriers.  These line barriers tend to help control crowds during a major shopping event.
