AT&T and Verizon are the latest to offer free upgrade program to iPhone 7

iphone7-02 AT&T and Verizon are the latest phone companies to offer trade-in iPhone 7 programs for new and current customers.

You’ll receive $650 for a qualifying trade-in of iPhone 6/s and iPhone 6/s Plus as credit across 24-months when you purchase iPhone 7. The credit should show up on your bill within 2-3 cycles. To receive the full credit the line must be active for the full 2-years, which would come into play if you’re planning to upgrade next year.

Verizon isn’t too specific on device trade requirements, only saying that it “must be in good working & cosmetic condition.” No matter which iPhone 7/Plus you order, you’ll only receive a credit of $650 (effectively makes 32GB iPhone 7 free). Surprisingly, we haven’t seen an iPhone 7 promo from AT&T yet, despite all of its major competitors grabbing headlines with their pre-order offers.

Macy’s to start selling Apple Watch this Holiday Season

macyslogo According to a report from Fortune and 9to5Mac.com, Macy’s will open an Apple Store within its flagship location at Herald Square in New York City, while the Apple Watch will also come to all of the chain’s “top buildings” for the holiday season.

President and CEO-designate Jeff Gennette told Wall Street analysts on Thursday that Macy’s signed a deal with Apple AAPL -2.61% to open an Apple store within its 1 million square-foot flagship at Herald Square in New York. Not only is Macy’s the first department store to host one of the tech giant’s emporia, but it will also be able to sell the Apple Watch at more than 180 stores in time for the Thanksgiving to Christmas rush.

“It will be in all of our top buildings for the holiday season,” said Gennette, who will take the reins in early 2017 from longtime CEO Terry Lundgren.

The Apple Watch will come to more than 180 Macy’s locations before the holiday shopping season kicks off in November. It’s unclear at this point what models Macy’s will sell, but with the essential death of the Apple Watch Edition, the luxury market will be targeted likely with the new ceramic model.

Sprint and T-Mobile offer free iPhone 7 with Trade-in / Sprint knocks off $100.00 off 256GB Model

iphone7-02 The T-Mobile deal, beginning Friday at the same time as Apple preorders, requires that people trade in an iPhone 6 or 6s, earning up to $650 in credit to be spread across monthly bills for two years. People wanting extra storage or a 7 Plus will have to pay the difference, and cancelling service before the two-year mark will force customers to pay a device's full cost.

The Sprint offer is only slightly more flexible, allowing people to trade in not just an iPhone 6 or 6s (including Plus models) but alternately a Samsung Galaxy S7. Otherwise, customers are still expected to stay on for two years and get paid in credit.

Sprint is also offering a separate $100 discount off 256-gigabyte iPhone 7 models, bringing their cost down to $749. That pricing will only be valid during the preorder phase, and then only until supplies are exhausted.

The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus will ship on Sept. 16. Both feature upgrades like faster processors, increased storage, and better displays and cameras. The 7 Plus includes a second camera for 2x optical zoom.
