Some Online Vendors beginning to roll out Apple Pay Support

ApplePayLogoYesterday we reported that some online vendors were gearing up to support Apple Pay via their web sites when Mac OS Sierra became available to the public.

Today we can report that some online vendors have already "flipped the switch" on the option, even though only a handful have.

The companies that should be offering it are:

Learn how to use Stickers, iMessage Apps, and more

ios10custlogo(9to5Mac.com): “The Messages app is the most frequently used app on iOS, so it makes sense that Apple would lend it plenty of attention in iOS 10. It’s safe to say that the stock Messages app received, by far, the most significant overhaul of all default apps in iOS 10, as it is now a feature-laden package that leverages photos, videos, and Snapchat-inspired markup elements,” Jeff Benjamin reports for 9to5Mac.

“Messages in iOS 10 even brings about a dedicated iMessage App Store for adding additional functionality such as stickers, animated GIFs and third-party app extensions that run right within the Messages app interface,” Benjamin reports. “Updated emoji features, inline music and video playback, and brand new effects add a new dimension to Apple’s most popular iOS app.”

“If you’ve steered clear of the betas and have yet to use iOS 10 up until now, then you have a lot of new exciting things to learn,” Benjamin reports. “Because iOS 10’s Messages app refresh is so deep and engaging, we’ve created an in-depth written and video walkthrough. Be sure to watch the full video to gain a solid grasp of many of the new features and enhancements found in Messages for iOS 10.”

Apple Pay coming soon to 200,000 Websites in the coming weeks and months

ApplePayLogo“Apple Pay on websites launched on Tuesday with the release of iOS 10 for the iPhone and iPad — and will hit Mac desktops when macOS Sierra launches next Tuesday,” Matt Hamblen reports for Computerworld.

“More than 200,000 websites — including small and large retailers — plan to support Apple Pay on their sites in coming weeks, Apple said Tuesday,” Hamblen reports. “Many of the sites include online retailers using e-commerce platforms run by Shopify, Demandware and IBM.”

“The move means that online shoppers with iPhones, iPads and Macs updated with the latest operating systems can save time when finishing an online purchase through the Apple’s Safari browser,” Hamblen reports. “Retailers that have signed up for the service are expected to see an uptick in the number of customers that finish a web purchase, instead of giving up because typing in credit information was considered too complicated, awkward or time-consuming.”

“After searching out a product or service in Safari to purchase,” Hamblen reports, “Apple Pay customers need only click an Apple Pay button on a website to complete their purchase.”
