How To: Control your TV's Volume with the New Apple TV Remote

2015AppleTVHandNow that the new Apple TV has officially hit the streets, we can finally reveal that we here at AppleScoop were one of the ones who got accepted to get a developer's unit when they were available, and were compiling helpful hits and tips that we could share with you when the unit became available to the public.

Our first hint is how to control your TV's volume with the new Apple TV remote.  The setup is simple by following these steps:

  1.  Go to Settings > Remote and Devices > Volume Control > Learn New Device.
  2. Make sure you have your old remote handy for the next steps.
  3. Grab your old TV Remote and point it at the Apple TV Remote.
  4. When instructed, hold down the volume up and down buttons on the old remote.
  5. The Apple TV Remote will learn the above commands.
  6. Give your remote a NAME to help Apple TV know which remote to "look at".
  7. That's it!

iPad Pro available November 11th?

iPadProWeb Site 9to5Mac.com that it has heard from "multiple sources" that Apple will start selling the iPad Pro on Wednesday, November 11th.

"Apple plans to start selling the 12.9-inch iPad Pro on Wednesday, November 11th via both its physical retail and online stores, according to multiple sources. Apple previously only said that the large tablet would become available during the month of November,"

We'll continue to monitor this and update as necessary.

The New Apple TV Supports 3D Content. 3D Games Already in tvOS App Store

2015-AppleTVLogoIt appears Apple's fourth-generation Apple TV is capable of displaying 3DTV content on compatible sets, as a third-party developer on Thursday released one of the first 3DTV-enabled titles to hit the new tvOS App Store.

Pangea Software is making all of its tvOS games compatible with 3DTVs, the company said in a tweet, proving Apple's new platform offers a unique experience that goes well beyond what is possible on iOS devices. Developer Steve Stroughton-Smith first noticed the novel feature after downloading Bugdom 2earlier today.
