Rumor: Apple prepping Apple TV to become a full blown game console

AppleTV2It has been said that Apple's device called Apple TV has been the "problem child" or a "hobby" for the company.  Even though the company has been adding content to the device, it is still seen as a device that's out of place.

But that may change in 3-4 months.  This according to BGR.com, who claims that the company is prepping the device to become a full blown game console.

"Apple has never really been much of a gaming company but that could change this year. iLounge is hearing that Apple is planning a major update for Apple TV sometime over the next two months that will add support for Bluetooth-equipped gaming controllers. What’s more, iLounge’s sources say that Apple wants to let users download iOS games directly to Apple TV instead of having to rely on using their iPhone or iPad. A move to put iOS games on the big screen would be a major move into the gaming sector for Apple, which for a long time has stayed away from investing in gaming. What will be particularly interesting to see is whether adding more game support to Apple TV will change the ambition and quality of games developed for iOS — in other words, if developers know that their games are more likely to be played on a big screen, they might be more likely to invest more in graphics and gameplay features."

So, we shall see . . . .

Apple: "We're working on fix for random iOS 7 crashes."

iOS7LogoSince iOS 7 became public in September, users have been complaining about random crashes from the home screen and with some 3rd party apps that have not been designed or updated to iOS 7, giving the user for what is now known as the "white or black screen of death."

According to AppleInsider.com, Apple issued a statement saying that it is aware of the issues and is working on a fix for the random errors:

"We have a fix in an upcoming software update for a bug that can occasionally cause a home screen crash," said Apple spokesperson Trudy Muller."

As of this writing, registered developers are working with iOS 7.1 Beta 4.  But it has not been said if they have been asked to review such an issue.
