So, who's using Apple Pay – Or can you even USE it?

It's been a few weeks since Apple announced Apple Pay.  During the Keynote, Apple made it sound like major Credit Card companies would be offering the service.

So, when I finally got my iPhone 6 Plus, I tried inputting my Visa, MasterCard and Discover into the phone.  Call me skeptical, but I opted to manually inputting the card information.

Much to my surprise, none of my cards worked.  So, after doing some research, I came up with the below conclusion.

Each card has its own representative.  For example, AT&T may be a representative of VISA.  Juniper Bank may be a representative of MasterCard, and so on.

So, in turn, the companies that ISSUE THE CARD has to be able to accept the Apple Pay, NOT the actual Card company.

Why do Walmart and others HATE Apple Pay? They cannot track your Buying habits

There are certainly a lot of compelling technologies being developed, which is great for the mobile-commerce industry as a whole. Ultimately, what matters is that consumers have a payment option that is widely accepted, secure, and developed with their best interests in mind.MCX member merchants already collectively serve a majority of Americans every day. MCX’s members believe merchants are in the best position to provide a mobile solution because of their deep insights into their customers’ shopping and buying experiences. – Wal-Mart spokesperson

“Our emphasis is added in there. These are mega corporations fighting for billions of dollars — Apple, the banks, Wal-Mart, etc. — so it’s hard to know whom to really trust,” Yarow reports. “But we would trust that Apple is working with consumers in mind. And we would guess that Wal-Mart is less concerned about consumers and more concerned with eliminating the 2% fee that comes with purchases by credit card. CurrentC bypasses credit-card fees, which will save Wal-Mart money in the long run.”
