In an update to its online FAQ page, Sprint has said that it will be allowing all of its devices to be unlockable after February 11th, 2o15.
The move is a part of the agreement that the five major U.S. wireless carriers and the Federal Communications Commission signed in December in order to allow customers to unlock their devices and switch carriers if they wish.
Â
We just got word that iOS 7.1.1 has been released and is available. Â The update fixes various things such as:
- Further improvements to Touch ID fingerprint recognition
- Fixes a bug that could impact keyboard responsiveness
- Fixes an issue when using Bluetooth keyboards with VoiceOver enabled
The update is available via Over The Air and should take anywhere from 20-30 minutes to complete.
Editor's Note: It's about time!
Starting today, all of Apple's retail stores will accept any of the company's ageing products for recycling—and, if it looks resaleable, you might even get some store credit, too.
The scheme is part of Tim Cook's ambition to "leave the world better than we found it." As of today, then, Apple will provide "free, responsible recycling" of any of its products via its bricks-and-mortar stores, though there are no details of what the credit options will be like. Occasionally, Apple will also hold recycling events, too, where it will "accept other companies' products." There's no word if it'll give you Apple vouchers for swapping in your old Samsung—though it might be worth a try! [Apple]
