Some Hints and Tips for ordering your iPhone 5C

iPhone5CAs most of you know, Apple - and other companies - will begin taking pre-orders for the iPhone 5C on September 13th at 12:00 midnight Pacific (3am Eastern).

Even though I won't be ordering one, here are some tips from past experiences since I got my grubby little hands on the first iPhone back in 2007.  These experiences can be used for all pre-ordering web sites:

1) Be ready to order.  Make sure to have your credit card, your cell phone information, and patience ready.

2) Decide what color you want ahead of time.

3) Are you getting a case?  Which one?

4) Make sure your Internet connection is working and stable before ordering.

5)  If you're upgrading a phone, have that information ready.

6)  After the ordering process, you should receive a confirmation e-mail on your order.

7)  The ordering process should take 20, 25, 30 minutes if the web site doesn't get bogged down.

Apple and other web sites have been known to get bogged down with orders during the first 30 - 60 seconds after they open the "flood gates."  If you have any problems with the process, please contact the respective company immediately, do not let it go until the morning.  All iPhones have been known to "run out" quickly.

Yes, I will do a how to next week when the pre-orders of the 5S is due out.

Let us know how it went below - and good luck!!!

Rumor: Apple TV Refresh Coming September 18th

AppleTV2“People familiar with the company’s plans say that Apple TV is scheduled for an internal overhaul on Sept. 18, the same day Apple releases its iOS 7 mobile operating software,” Peter Kafka reports for AllThingsD.

“The one new feature I’m aware of is a tweak to Apple’s AirPlay system,” Kafka reprots. “The new software will allow people who have purchased content from Apple’s iTunes store to play that stuff on other people’s TVs, via its AirPlay system.”

Kafka reports, “The key part is that they will be able to tell an Apple TV box they don’t own to stream the media they do own, directly from the cloud. That’s a change from the current system, which requires users to download stuff to their iPhones and iPads and fling it to the TV from there.”
