Windows 8 reaches 100 Million Sales, MS working on user's complaints

MicrosoftLogo2012Even as Microsoft reaches the 100 Million sold milestone, Windows 8 is pegged with user's complaints, for which the company is working to address as quickly as it can.

Microsoft officials revealed the above number to media outlets during a media event last week.  The sales pace is roughly on track of that with Windows 7.

Microsoft is trying to turn that around by issuing a major update to Windows 8 (codenamed Windows Blue) which is due out sometime this Fall.  Windows Blue is supposed to address some major complaints that users currently have about Windows 8, including a feature that will enable a user to go right-to-desktop feature.

Bill Gates inserts foot-in-mouth live on CNBC

BillGates“Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates told CNBC on Monday that the software giant is trying to gain market share in the Apple-dominated tablet market,” Matthew J. Belvedere reports for CNBC. “Personal computers are still a big business, he said in a ‘Squawk Box’ interview, appearing from Omaha, Neb., with fellow billionaire Warren Buffett. Gates, a board member of Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway, added that it’s going to be harder to tell the difference between the tablets and personal computers.”

“‘With Windows 8, Microsoft is trying to gain market share in what has been dominated by the iPad-type device. But a lot those users are frustrated. They can’t type. They can’t create documents,’ he added. ‘So we’re providing them something with the benefits they’ve seen that has made that a big category but without giving up what they expect in a PC,’” Belvedere reports. “‘If you have Surface or Surface Pro, you have the portability of the tablet but the richness of terms of the keyboard, Microsoft Office of the PC,’ said Gates, referring to Microsoft’s tablet.”

Confidential E-Mail Form

AppleScoopLogoA few of our readers have asked for a way to submit rumors/news confidentially.  We now have such a way to do it:

Just use the Tip Us menu option and select the Confidential E-Mail option.  This will take you to a standard e-mail form on your computer.  However, what ever emails are received from this will be kept confidential (unless you specify otherwise).  This is being done by us and will not show your email address when it reaches our mail server.  If for some reason you do want your name to be included in the e-mail, please include it in the body of the message.

This is the only way we can come up with until we find something else.  Do you have another idea????  E-Mail us!!

Thanks,
