How to: Set up an Apple TV 2

By: Dan Uff

While the Apple TV 2 is supposed to be easy to set up and use, some people may still have questions, or want a 'common sense' set up guide to help them get up and running quickly.

These instructions are for the Apple TV 2, but can be used for the Apple TV 1 as well:

0. What you need: Apple TV, remote, power cord, and a HDMI wire (sold separately).
1.  Lay everything out in front of you so you have easy access to what you need later.
2.  Make sure your TV has an available HDMI port on the back of the TV.
3.  DO NOT PLUG IN THE APPLE TV until you do step #4.
4.  Take one end of the  HDMI wire, plug it into your TV and likewise to the Apple TV.
5.  Plug in the Apple TV in to an electrical outlet.
6.  Turn your TV on.
7.  Tune your TV to the same HDMI port that you plugged in the Apple TV into.
8.  Using the Apple TV remote control, follow the onscreen instructions.

That's it.

Law And Order Legacies Game For iOS Released

If you are a fan of the various Law and Order shows on television, then you’ll likely be delighted to hear that Telltale games, developers of the overtly cinematic Jurassic Park game for iOS devices, have released a new game called Law and Order Legacies (we’re assuming it’s called Legacies because Law and Order was cancelled).

The game, in true cinematic style, describes itself as allowing fans to ‘feel like they’re playing the TV show, following dramatic twists and turns of criminal investigation, assuming the dual roles of police investigators and district attorneys’. The likenesses of Law and Order actors and actresses such as Benjamin Bratt and Mariska Hargitay are used in the game to create a ‘dream team’.

Best Buy CANCELS some online Christmas orders

Best Buy says it won't be able to fill some customers' online orders, just days before Christmas.

The largest U.S. specialty electronics retailer says overwhelming demand for some products has led to a problem redeeming online orders made in November and December.

The Minneapolis company declined Thursday to specify how many orders are affected or which products are out of stock.

The shortages are a black eye for Best Buy, which has beefed up online offerings as a way to offset tough competition from online retailers and discount stores.

Online shopping is becoming more popular, with sales up 15 percent to $32 billion so far this holiday season. That has created some problems, though.

Target's site crashed in September because overwhelming demand for a popular brand.
